The Best Heat Pads for Ultimate Tension Relief and Recovery
We’ve found the very best heat pads that will ensure instant pain and tension relief in your neck and back. Let’s take a closer look at what you can expect from any of the products we’ve reviewed.
First up, we’ve got the Hydas shoulder and neck heating pad. Now, this heat pad won’t reach your back, but it is fantastic for your neck and shoulders. The pad is a bit pricey, but the excellent features make it well worth it.
The controller conveniently has four heat intensities so you maintain control of the temperature. It is also removable, so you can simply throw the pad in the washing machine when it needs a wash. The pad’s design is fantastic and features a magnetic closure which allows you to shape it to cover those hard to reach muscles perfectly.
It is shaped to have an extra high neck flap and the lower part covers your shoulder blades. We love the fact that the border is padded, which adds even more comfort while soothing those sore muscles.
Second on our list is the fantastic Sanitas SHK18 Therapy Heating Pad. What we love about this pad is the fact that you can use it for any part of your body, including your back, neck and shoulders. Easily adjust the warmth to one of the three settings on the controller to ensure maximum comfort and a speedy recovery.
The rug shape of the pad makes it easy to place and adjust to target specific muscles. It is also easy to keep clean and maintain. It automatically switches off after 90 minutes for your safety, though it retains some heat for prolonged comfort.
The pad is very easy to clean and its safety features are outstanding. We’d say go for it, especially if your main concern is safety and full recovery of all your muscles.
Next up we’ve got the Dreamland Intelliheat Heat Pad. And what a fantastic heat pad it is! As with the Sanitas pad, it also has a rug shape making it great for targeting any sore and tired muscles. We found this pad to be more versatile than some of the others, as it offers you five different heat settings to select from.
It’s easy to keep this pad clean too. Simply remove the controller and chuck it in the washing machine. If you keep the water temperature at 30 degrees, your pad should last for years to come. We also found that the pad heats up to its target temperature quickly.
The pad is covered with high-quality polyester to ensure heat is emitted evenly for optimal muscle pain relief. This is a fantastic heat pad that any athlete can benefit from!
This little beauty heats up in no less than 10 minutes, so you can expect immediate muscle pain relief. We’d highly recommend the Beurer HK35 heat pad, especially if you suffer from back pain. The fact that it has a rug shape makes it ideal to reach any aching muscle in your tired body.
It has a cotton cover that is machine washable, making maintenance a breeze. Even though it only has three heat settings, you’ll still benefit from its 50°C-75°C range. We did find the pad to be a tad small, but it’s still an efficient and excellent product for relief of muscle tension.
If you are on a budget, you’ll be happy to learn that this heat pad is also more affordable than some of the others we’ve reviewed. We’d say it’s a great deal, and your back and neck will thank you for buying it!
Our final recommendation is the Natural Moist Microwave Wheat Pack. As a more affordable option, you won’t be disappointed by the pad’s features. Whether you want to heat it up or use it as a cooling agent for a sore neck and shoulders, it will surely benefit your workout for years to come!
The only thing we don’t like as much about the product is the fact that it only covers the neck and shoulders and is not ideal for relieving back pain. It also loses heat quite quickly after you have heated it up in the microwave.
The cover is made of fleece, which is easy to remove and wash. The material adds to the soothing effect of the pack, making it even more comfortable than some other heat pads. A great buy when on a tight budget!
We’ve reviewed some of the best heat pads for neck and back pain and included a range of options. Whatever your preference or budget, there’s a product here for you. Even though we’d highly recommend all of them, we’d stick with the Sanitas SHK18 for reliable recovery from back and neck pain.
Remember, taking care of your back and neck is your responsibility. Make sure you do enough warmup stretches before every workout and recover with a top-rated heat pad afterwards.
